Dr. Smith has been a member of the Durham VAMC Health Services Research and Development Biostatistics unit since 2009. Her research interests include: Methods for Semicontinuous and Zero-Inflated Data, Economic Modeling Methods, Causal Inference Methods, Observational Study Design, Matching and Weighting Methods, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Survival Analysis, and Categorical Data Analysis. Her research interests have been applied to: Health Policy, Cost Effectiveness, Program and Policy Evaluation, Obesity and Weight Loss, Diabetes and other Chronic Conditions, and Emergency Department Patterns of Use.
