Heather King, PhD is a health services researcher at the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC, HSR&D). Dr. King was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care, and she is currently part of the implementation lab as a research health science specialist. Dr. King received her PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University; her areas of concentration were developmental research methodology and individual, adult development. In general, her research focuses on the relationships between particular psychological/psychosocial variables and health behaviors as well as various indicators of physical health and chronic disease management and prevention. She also has a strong interest in health and health-related processes within couples and families.
