Dr. Gellad is a health services researcher, Core Investigator at the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care; Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Duke Division of Gastroenterology, and a Category A Faculty member with the Duke Clinical Research Institute. His research, supported by a VA HSR&D Career Development Award, focuses on developing a simulation-based intervention to expand the colorectal cancer screening capacity of the VHA through improved endoscopy unit efficiency. The award will also further prepare him to conduct independent research, guided by implementation theory, on the dissemination of simulation-guided systems redesign more broadly within the VHA. In addition to Dr. Gellad's CDA, some of his research interests are in: the quality and value of healthcare; healthcare systems engineering and decision analysis; outcomes research in Colorectal Cancer Screening; and the translation of quality research into practice. |
